Who is Evan?
Evan Woodall is a licensed professional counselor and registered play therapist in private practice in Texas. She has an EdS in Play Therapy from the University of Mississippi and obtained her MA from the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs. She will begin her PhD fall 2019 at Adams State University (crazy, right?!)
She specializes in working with kids and their parents. Her background is in early intervention where she was an early intervention specialist for years working with children 0-3 with special needs and their families. The early intervention gig provided her the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience working with developmental delays (autism, down syndrome, etc.) and challenging children and family situations. She primarily works with children 0-young college-aged and of course families.
While CCPT (child centered play therapy) is her natural medium, she uses a prescriptive approach when working with children and families and enjoys the challenge of being creative when working with teens.
As if she isn't doing enough, she added a therapy-puppy-in-training to her practice. Tilly, the sheepadoodle, has added an interesting dynamic in session with the older kids, teens, and interestingly enough, parents. Tilly & Evan, both, are gearing up for therapy dog certification in the next 6 mos.
She really loves what she does and is super passionate about the mental health field.
